Refugee Health Program

Refugee Health Services

Due to their experiences prior to resettlement and during the resettlement process, refugees often require comprehensive medical services upon arrival, including:

  • Immunizations
  • Treatment for Infectious Diseases
  • Dental Care
  • Mental Health Services

Per the Immigration and Nationality Act, refugees, including Cuban/Haitian entrants and certain Amerasians, are eligible for refugee health services for a period of eight months from the date they entered the United States. Asylees and victims of severe forms of trafficking are also eligible to receive refugee health assessment and reception and placement services.
