Minority Health Advisory Committee

The Minority Health Advisory Committee was established in 1992, to ensure HEALTH’s on-going relationship with members of the minority community. The twenty-two (22) member Committee advocates for and supports HEALTH’s efforts to improve the health of racial and ethnic minorities. The MHAC includes representatives from other Health and Human Services state agencies, community-based organizations, providers and racial and ethnic advocacy groups in the state.

The Committee meets nine times throughout the year to:

  1. Receive reports from its subcommittees;
  2. Receive reports from projects funded by the Office of Minority Health;
  3. Identify policy issues to be worked on; and
  4. Hear presentations from HEALTH programs and other health providers regarding new programs and initiatives.
