Home Health Agencies

If your doctor decides you need home health care, you have the right to choose which home health agency will provide you with the care and services you need. The Department of Health provides information about choosing a home health agency. HEALTH also reports information clinical measures and patient satisfaction at each agency.

Clinical Measures

HEALTH updates reports about clinical measures for Medicare-certified home health agencies every 3 months. These measures reflect patients’ outcomes for clinical conditions like pain, and were chosen by Medicare for the Home Health Quality Initiative.

For more detailed information about what each report includes and how to understand it, you can read additional information. Medicare's Home Health Compare website also has information about the care that patients receive in Rhode Island Hospitals.

Patient Satisfaction

Patients’ feedback about their satisfaction with Rhode Island home health agencies was collected in late 2007. The following reports are updated as new information is available:

The Home Health Satisfaction Supplemental Information Report provides details about how the information was collected and helps you understand how to read the above reports.
