Hospitals
The Department of Health shares the information below to help you
compare different hospitals and choose one that is best for you. The
Frequently Asked Questions can help you understand how the Department
chooses what information to release and how you can use it.If you
have additional questions, please contact each
hospital for more information. You should also consider visiting
hospitals to look around and ask questions.
Clinical Measures
There are four sets of graphs that show how Rhode Island hospitals
compare to one another for:
Medicare’s Hospital Compare Website also has information about the
care that patients receive in Rhode Island hospitals and the measures in
the heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia graphs. You can learn
more about the pressure ulcer admission assessment and daily
reassessment measures by reading the Measure Information Forms. The May 2009 pressure ulcer prevention graphs are a one-time report for
each hospital. In 2007 and 2008, Rhode Island hospitals collected pilot
data. Later in 2009, the Program will report information about pressure
ulcers that patients get during their hospital stays.
Satisfaction
In addition to clinical quality, Medicare’s Hospital Compare has information about
patients’ satisfaction with the care that patients receive in Rhode
Island hospitals.
Information for Consumers
The Division of Facilities Regulation makes
hospital survey information available to consumers to help evaluate the
quality of care provided by the state's hospitals. |
