Assessment of Coordinated Health Planning in Rhode Island

Coordinated Health Planning Report

The Department of Health convened the Coordinated Health Planning Advisory Committee in response to the Coordinated Health Planning Act of 2006 (Public Laws 354 and 462, enacted 7/7/06), which asks the Department of Health and an advisory committee to develop “an assessment of the existing state capacity and authority to perform coordinated statewide health planning including a plan for the development and revision of strategic plans to improve the quality, accessibility, portability and affordability of the state's health care system, and a study of an expanded role for the Department of Health in health care planning, including capital investment expansion and introduction of technology.”

The work of the Advisory Committee is to inform the development of a report to the General Assembly that will be submitted on or before April 1, 2007.
