• Get Training – Contact a training program directly to find out how to enroll, when classes are offered, and how much classes cost.
• Apply for a License – When you complete your training program complete and submit the application and required documents to the Rhode Island Department of Health.
• Register for the Exams through Credentia -   You must Register Online to schedule the written and skills examinations.  The written portion of the exam is now taken online and the skills portion will be assigned to a Regional Testing location in Rhode Island, based on availability.

To be a Medication Aide

• Get licensed as Nursing Assistant You must be licensed as a Nursing Assistant to be licensed as a Medication Aide.
• Get Training Take a Medication Aide Training Program to learn how to administer medications properly. Contact the training program directly to find out how to enroll, when classes are offered, and how much classes cost.
• Apply for a license You need to get a separate Medication Aide license through the Rhode Island Department of Health.
