The Rhode Island HEALTH Web Data Query System

The Rhode Island HEALTH Web Data Query System (RI HEALTH WDQS) is one of the Department of Health's responses to the ever-increasing public expectation for reliable and trustworthy online health data and information. It provides health professionals and community organizations with valuable information with which to improve the health of Rhode Islanders through data driven programs and policies.

The system currently contains nine years (1998-2006) of RI Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data, three years (2001, 2003 and 2005) of RI Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) data, and two years (2004 and 2005) of RI Death Certificate data. The system allows one to obtain up-to-date information, view time trends, and combine years in order to obtain stable estimates. The project will incrementally expand access to other databases in phases, beginning with those required for monitoring Healthy Rhode Island 2010 indicators, and then to other databases that reside in the Rhode Island Department of Health, and finally to certain external databases.
