Insurance Coverage for Hospice Care
It is important to contact the insurance provider of the patient as soon as possible to determine specific benefits. Most private insurance companies cover a percentage of the cost of hospice, but they offer different plans with different options for hospice coverage. Some plan-options pay 100% of hospice costs. Others don't. Speak with an insurance representative to determine an individual's benefits and limitations. Medicare and Medicaid cover hospice care.
