This booklet provides recommendations on targeted tuberculin testing, treatment of LTBI, and clinical monitoring. It serves as a reference resource that highlights the main points and recent updates to the "Targeted Tuberculin Testing and Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection" guidelines published in 2000. (CDC)

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

The Difference Between Latent TB Infection and Active TB Disease
This fact sheet details the difference between Latent TB Infection (LTBI) and Active TB Disease. A general description of TB is also given. (CDC)

Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI)
This fact sheet provides an overview of the treatment for latent TB infection (LTBI). Covered in the fact sheet are candidates for the treatment of LTBI, drug regimens, and monitoring. (CDC)

Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection: Maximizing Adherence
This fact sheet provides strategies for health care providers to use to maximize adherence by their patients for the treatment of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). (CDC)

Treatment Options for Latent Tuberculosis Infection
This fact sheet provides information for health care providers to
evaluate and choose the most appropriate and effective treatment regimen for latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). (CDC)

Targeted Tuberculin Testing and Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection, 2005
This slide set was developed as an accompaniment to Targeted Tuberculin Testing and Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection, a joint statement by CDC and the American Thoracic Society, and subsequent updates. The slide set provides an overview of the current recommendations for the treatment of latent tuberculosis. The slide set also includes case studies to initiate discussion of LTBI diagnosis and treatment. (CDC)

Targeted Tuberculin Skin Testing and Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Children and Adolescents
This article presents comprehensive guidelines for screening, targeted testing, and treating latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) in children and adolescents. It also reviews the recent epidemiology of TB and data on risk factors for LTBI. (American Academy of Pediatrics)

What You Need to Know About TB Infection
This booklet is one of several culturally appropriate patient education materials produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Northeastern National Tuberculosis Center. All of these patient education materials can be found on the following webpage: http://www.cdc.gov/tb/pubs/pamphlets.htm. This booklet provides information on TB infection, the TB skin test, treatment for TB infection, and how to stay on TB medication.

LTBI Card: Patient's TB Testing and Treatment Record
This information kit provides information on the rationale and use of an LTBI card. It includes a sample wallet sized pocket card that LTBI patients can use as a portable record of their tuberculin skin test, chest x ray, and treatment status. Patients can carry the card at all times and show it whenever they are seen by a new health care provider. This resource also contains information on downloading and completing cards as well as discussing use of cards with patients. Additional card information in the kit includes the provider and TB control program contact information, patient education messages about the purpose and use of the card, and the signs and symptoms of TB disease. Some parts of this kit are only available online. (Northeastern RTMCC)

Management of Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Children and Adolescents: A Guide for the Primary Care Provider
This manual provides basic information on TB testing, and lists key points in evaluating, treating, and monitoring children and adolescents who have latent TB infection. (Northeastern RTMCC)

Treatment of Latent LTBI: Latent Tuberculosis Infection: With Revised Guidelines for RIF PZA
This poster provides information about treating latent TB infection, identify those who should undergo tuberculin skin testing, and provides a chart of recommended drug regimens. (Charles P. Felton Center)

Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) (with revised
guidelines for RIF PZA)

This pocket guide provides information about treating latent TB
infection, identify those who should undergo tuberculin skin testing, and provides a chart of recommended drug regimens. (Charles P. Felton Center)

Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI): Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Pregnancy/Postpartum (with revised guidelines for RIF PZA)
This poster provides a table for recommended drug regimens for treating latent TB infection in pregnancy/postpartum. They show each type of drug used, its interval and duration, adult maximum dosage, and criteria for completing drug therapy. (Charles P. Felton Center)

Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI): Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Pregnancy/Postpartum (with revised guidelines for RIF PZA)
This pocket guide provides a table for recommended drug regimens for treating latent TB infection in pregnancy/postpartum. They show each type of drug used, its interval and duration, adult maximum dosage, and criteria for completing drug therapy. (Charles P. Felton Center)

LTBl: A Case Study for Instructors (Web Based)
This online case study focuses on the proper procedures for diagnosing and treating persons with LTBI. Key concepts include identifying persons at increased risk for the development of tuberculosis once infected with M. tuberculosis; administering the tuberculin skin test and interpreting the results; ruling out active TB; determining treatment options for LTBI; and monitoring patients being treated for LTBI. (Francis J. Curry Center)

Latent Tuberculosis Infection: Seven Case Studies
This book presents seven case studies that exemplify presentations of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) frequently encountered in general practice. (Charles P. Felton Center)

Treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) in Children and
Adolescents (with revised guidelines for RIF PZA)

This poster provides a table for recommended drug regimens for treating latent TB infection in children and adolescents. They show each type of drug used, its interval and duration, pediatric dosage, and criteria for completing drug therapy. (Charles P. Felton Center)

Screening Children and Adolescents for LTBI
This pocket size information card uses a questionnaire to assess
children and adolescents for risk factors for latent TB infection and recommends a tuberculin skin test only if risk factors are present. (Charles P. Felton Center)

Pediatric Calendar for LTBI Completion
This calendar was developed to help parents make sure that their children with LTBI take their medications as prescribed. The calendar includes a coloring page, stickers, and an LTBI Pediatric Completion Card. It should be brought to follow up visits with the child's health care providers. (Charles P. Felton Center)
