Reporting Tuberculosis

In Rhode Island, suspected or confirmed cases of TB disease are reportable by law to the Rhode Island Department of Health. Such cases should be reported within four (4) working days of suspicion of disease.

Latent TB infection (LTBI) is not reportable in Rhode Island. However, a positive TB skin test in a child under 6 years old is reportable within four days of the test being read. This is for source identification purposes. Call the TB Program at 222-2577 to report.
