Physical Activity

Recreational activities

Spend your free time having fun and improving your health. What you choose to do in your free time can help you become or stay fit!

Anything that gets you moving will count towards accumulating the recommended 30 minutes of daily physical activity. Here are a few examples:

  • Hiking
  • Dancing
  • Skiing
  • Tennis
  • White water rafting
  • Golfing (without a cart!)
  • Working out at the gym
  • Landscaping

Walking 1 mile burns about 100 calories. Adding a 1-mile walk daily results in a 10-pound per year weight loss!
