Dental Health Professional Shortage Areas (DHPSAs)
Dental health professional shortage areas (DHPSAs) are those parts of RI that meet specific federal criteria utilized to assess shortages of dental health care providers. The purpose of DHPSA designations is to identify areas with insufficient capacity and prioritize limited state and federal resources towards areas of highest need.
