CDC Infection Control Guidelines & Recommendations
The guidelines review scientific evidence regarding dental infection control issues plus consensus, evidence-based recommendations. Issues covered include management of occupational exposures to infectious microorganisms; dental unit water quality; selection and use of dental devices with infection control features; hand hygiene products; latex hypersensitivity; dental radiology; and program evaluation.
Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures (OSAP) OSAP is a unique group of dental practitioners, allied healthcare workers, industry representatives, and other interested persons with a collective mission to promote infection control and related science-based health and safety policies and practices.
Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Dental professionals are at risk for exposure to numerous biological, chemical, environmental, physical, and psychological workplace hazards. There are currently no specific OSHA Standards or Directives for dentistry; however, exposure to workplace hazards that may apply to dentistry are addressed in specific standards for general industry.
