Rhode Island Poison Control Center (RIPCC) Program
From 1981 to 1999 Rhode Island Poison Control was operated as a community service funded by Rhode Island Hospital.  In 2000, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Rhode Island Department of Health released a collaborative request for proposals for one regional poison center to serve both states.  It is now located at Children’s Hospital Boston.

RIPCC collaborates within HEALTH’s public health programs and Rhode Island’s Office Health and Human Service members to utilize their resources in distribution of educational materials.

The RCPCP works to reduce both unintentional and intentional poisons through public education, outreach and promote services.  To advance these strategies, the RCPCP, in conjunction with American Association of Poison Control and Prevention (AAPCC), has developed a number of materials including brochures, refrigerator magnets, telephone labels to help equip Massachusetts and Rhode Island educators and residents with poisoning prevention tools.
