Rhode Island's Home Visiting Program

What questions do families ask our home visitors?

Families often have questions about raising a child.

New mothers wonder about caring for their babies:

  • What tips can you give me for my baby’s first bath?
  • What does it mean when my baby cries?
  • Am I crying too much?

Parents want to know about their young child’s growth, health and safety:

  • My child is a picky eater. How can I make sure he eats healthy foods? When should I take my child to the doctor? How do I know if my child is growing and learning as expected?
  • How can I make my home safe for my child?

Families can be linked to community services:

  • I will be going back to work—where can I find daycare for my baby?I have no insurance—how can I get healthcare for my child?
  • My child is lead poisoned. What services are available to us?
