What mothers are saying about PRAMS

What new mothers are saying about the health care

" . . . The hospital staff was prepared, assertive, helpful and informative. I couldn't be happier with the hospital and my own doctors. I trust them completely and give them 5 stars!!"

"The RI government is doing a good job by enrolling pregnant women and low income working parents on Rite Care. I really appreciate all the help I received during and after my pregnancy."

"I feel that the care of mothers and babies in Rhode Island is wonderful. You don't have to go to a fancy doctor's office to be treated like gold. I went to a hospital clinic, and if I had to do it all over again, I would still choose the same place because of the care, the information, and the compassion and smiles."

"I wasn't born in this country-- I came from the Czech Republicmother and baby seven years ago. I have to say that I had a great experience with the people in the hospital and the overall way that everything works there . . . I hope that my survey will help."

"I found that there were many informational resources for us through my workplace, my OB-GYN, the Internet and in books before and after having the baby. I'm very happy to live in Rhode Island where we have some of the best caregivers for mothers and babies."" My husband and I received everything we needed and our baby received excellent care!"

"I felt very well informed throughout my pregnancy and my child birth. . . I had great birth education classes."

"I am glad that I gave birth in Rhode Island and decided to reside here and raise my daughter."

"The state of Rhode Island has wonderful resources for mothers of premature babies. Visiting nurses, Early Intervention, Rite Care… I am extremely grateful and thankful to have had my daughter here."

"I feel that prenatal care is very important during pregnancy. One thing I was happy with was receiving a visit from a visiting nurse after coming home from the hospital."

"Rhode Island is a very good place for mothers and babies because we have prenatal care that has very good people . . . they help everybody that needs help -- mothers and babies."

"I have had two wonderful birth experiences with my midwives and will recommend them to every woman I know who becomes pregnant. I wish there was more information out there about the benefits of having a midwife. I think many women would benefit from their care."

"I wish my doctor had set more time aside for me during visits. I've always felt like I was bothering her with questions."

"I have had excellent care in Rhode Island and the health care providers we had were excellent too!"

"I had a great doctor, she was there for me when I needed her throughout my pregnancy. After my delivery the nurses and doctors were great to me."

"When women have babies they should not be afraid to ask questions. Ask everything you want and need to know about, that's why people are there to help."pregnant woman

"I would like insurance to cover more wellness visits for new mothers. My baby was very fussy during her first few weeks and I could have used more support and reassurance from a doctor that nothing was wrong. I brought her into the doctor's office thinking that she was ill, but there was nothing wrong and I was charged for a sick visit. I would also like to see more coverage for sick visits."

"Throughout my pregnancy I was impressed by Rhode Island's interest in helping mothers learn about and act on nutrition and healthcare information. I didn't need to take advantage of various state programs, but through fliers in the doctor's office and information from the doctor, I learned that there were several different 'well mother' state programs available."
