Office of Special Healthcare NeedsAbout the Programs
The Family Support and Advocacy Program provide family support to ensure that services for children with special healthcare needs and their families are based in the community and are family centered. Through a contract with Family Voices at the RI Parent Information Network (RIPIN), the Office assures outreach, education and support to families raising children with special needs. Family Voices recruits, trains, and supports family members for outreach, policy development, and quality improvement in state and local level assignments. Through advocacy and targeted interventions, the model of family driven quality assurance promotes ongoing improvement in the healthcare system.
