Office of HIV/AIDS & Viral HepatitisInformation for ProvidersRyan White AIDS Drug Assistance ProgramThe AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is a federally funded program administered by the Rhode Island Department of Health. The program provides FDA-approved HIV drugs to low-income people who have limited or no coverage from private insurance or Medicaid. The ADAP program provides only HIV drugs that are listed on the ADAP Formulary To be eligible for the program, a person must be a Rhode Island resident, have HIV, and have an income less than 4 times (400%) the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). For example, for a family of one, 400% of the poverty level is $38,280. For more information about the poverty guidelines, go to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Poverty Guidelines.
