Childhood immunization does not end with school entry. Some vaccines require a second dose or a booster dose in later childhood or in adolescence. Some newer vaccines are not given for the first time until adolescence. No matter how old your child is, it is important to check with your healthcare provider and make sure your child's shots are up to date.
