Re: Pediatric Influenza Vaccine Available
On November 14 we notified State Supplied Vaccine (SSV) Providers that the Rhode Island Department of Health had received all the flu vaccine ordered, and was now able to fulfill provider requests made via the influenza survey.
We request at this time that all providers pick up their remaining Influenza vaccine allocation by December 1, 2006. All doses of influenza vaccine remaining after December 1 will be distributed to any SSV Provider who may need more than they originally requested. After December 1, requests for additional influenza vaccine allocations should be faxed to the Department of Health (DOH) at 401-222-3805 and will be handled on a first come, first served basis until all the vaccine supply is used up.
Requests for additional influenza vaccine allocations submitted prior to December 1 will not be considered. Requests for additional allocations that are approved will need to be picked up at the Vaccine Distribution Room located on the Lower Level of the Department of Health by December 15.
Should there still be influenza vaccine available after December 15, the DOH will make those remaining doses available to providers outside the SSV program.
The Vaccine Distribution Room hours of operation are as follows:
Monday Closed
Tuesday -Friday 9:00am to noon
Tuesday & Thursday 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Please remember in order to pick up vaccine you must:
- Bring a large enough cooler (w/ ice packs) to handle the vaccine you'll be picking up.
- Bring Identification.
If you chose to pick up your vaccine at one of the three satellite hospital pharmacy depots locations (Westerly, Newport, or South County), the vaccine will be available there by noon on December 1.
This will be the FINAL Pediatric Influenza Vaccine Update for the 2006-2007 season.
