The Department of Health requires licensees to renew their licenses to ensure that they meet current requirements, including those for continuing education. Requirements and timetables for renewal are established by law and vary by type of profession. Licensees should refer to the regulations governing their license types for specific renewal information. (more)
Many professionals, facilities, and organizations can renew their licenses online. Others have special renewal requirements and must renew their licenses using a paper application.
You can renew your license online if you received a notification in the mail during your renewal cycle with a Registration Code. If you prefer to fill out a paper renewal form, contact the Licensing Unit and provide your name, license number, and current mailing address.
Licenses are normally issued within five business days to allow time to review online submissions. If there are issues with your submission, you will be contacted and the renewal will take longer.
If online renewal is not available for your license type, you will receive a renewal application in the mail about two months before your license expires. This application is pre-populated with your information. Do not use a blank initial application form to renew an existing license. Please allow 15 business days from the date you mail your paper form and payment for the Department to process your renewal or notify you if additional information is needed.
