What: Youth Rally for World No-Tobacco Day - May 31st

  • Including a parade and disposal of youth-targeted tobacco industry ads
  • Youth-targeted tobacco industry ads that were ripped out of magazines will receive a proper disposal

Youth march followed by press event at:
Clean Scape recycling plant
150 Colfax St. (parking lot)

Who: Youth from Roger Williams Middle School and WORD, youth anti-tobacco advocates

Youth advocate, Pedro Malave, will rally the crowd

Special notes:

Youth will be led in a parade by Big Nazo and the Alec Redfern & Eyesore Trio. The parade celebrates World No Tobacco Day by taking thousands of youth-targeted tobacco ads, which have been torn out of magazines, and disposing of them properly.

The parade begins at Roger Williams Middle School and proceeds to Clean Scape at 150 Colfax Street, where a dump truck full of ads will dump them to be recycled.

WORD are youth anti-tobacco advocates supported by the American Legacy Foundation.
