HEALTH to release statewide hospital Patient Satisfaction report

WHEN: Tuesday, November 27 10:00 a.m.

WHERE: State Room Rhode Island State House

The Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) will announce the results of a statewide hospital patient satisfaction survey conducted as part of the Rhode Island Health Care Quality Performance Measurement and Reporting Program. The report will be the first public release of standardized patient satisfaction data as required by legislation in 1998. The program’s primary objective is quality improvement through public accountability and "best practice" sharing.

Patricia A. Nolan, M.D., MPH, Director of HEALTH, will be joined by Lieutenant Governor Charles J. Fogarty (author of the original legislation), Kimberly Kochurka, Principal Consultant, Press Ganey, Inc. (the survey vendor), the Hospital Association of Rhode Island and representatives from the 13 participating hospitals.
