Department of Health Lifts Boil Water Advisory for Harrisville/Pascoag
Providence: Today, state health officials lifted the boil water advisory for customers served by Harrisville Fire District. Results of coliform bacteria testing on Monday, July 1st through Wednesday, July 3rd shows that the water in the distribution system is free of coliform bacteria and safe for drinking and other routine uses.
Residents should flush any faucet or tap that has not been used during the boil water advisory for one minute. This ensures that any contamination is removed. Residents are also advised to run icemakers in refrigerators for 24 hours, discard all of the ice, wash and sanitize the bin area.
For more information during regular business hours, (or a recorded message after hours) contact Paul Bisson of the Harrisville Fire District office at (401) 568-2224. Information is also available during business hours from the Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water Quality at (401) 222-6867.
