HEALTH Recommends Closing Bristol Town Beach, City Park/Buttonwoods Beach, Conimicut Point Beach, and Oakland Beach

Today, HEALTH recommended that the City of Warwick close City Park/Buttonwoods Beach, Conimicut Point Beach, and Oakland Beach; and the Town of Bristol close Bristol Town Beach to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the area is safe for swimming.

A 500-foot section of Third Beach in Middletown is also closed at this time.

For up to date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches, go to the HEALTH website at www.health.ri.gov/environment/beaches/Closure2.htm  or for recorded information about RI Bathing beaches call
(401) 222-2751.
