Media Release FOR: Immediate Release HEALTH Recommends Closing Governor Notte Park to SwimmingThe Department of Health (HEALTH) recommended the closure of Governor Notte Park in North Providence to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming. Conimicut Point and Oakland Beach in Warwick, part of Third Beach in Middletown, and Warren Town Beach remain closed. As a reminder, Rhode Island has many excellent beaches. There are currently 119 licensed beaches open throughout the State.
