HEALTH Recommends Reopening the Atlantic Beach Club, Barrington Town Beach, Easton’s Beach, King Park Swim Area, and Warren Town Beach

HEALTH officials recommended re-opening the Atlantic Beach Club in Middletown, Barrington Town Beach, Easton’s Beach and King Park Swim Area in Newport, and Warren Town Beach for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH, the Town of Barrington, the City of Newport, and the Town of Warren will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

Camp Crosby in Bristol; Camp Grosvenor in North Kingstown; Camp Massasoit in Johnston; City Park, Conimicut Point, and Oakland Beach in Warwick; Governor Notte Park in North Providence; and part of Third Beach in Middletown remain closed.

As a reminder, Rhode Island has many excellent beaches. There are currently 116 licensed beaches open throughout the State.

PLEASE NOTE: BEACH STATUS MAY CHANGE ON A DAILY BASIS. For up to date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches, go to the HEALTH website at www.health.ri.gov or for recorded information about RI Bathing beaches call (401) 222-2751.
