RI Health Department Updates Hospital Financial Dataset for 2002

Today, the Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) released the Hospital Financial Dataset to include information on RI’s community hospitals and hospital systems for 2002. The Dataset uses information from the Audited Financial Statements.

"Updating this Dataset continues our efforts to inform the public about Rhode Island’s healthcare system," said Dr. Patricia A. Nolan, Director of Health. "Interested parties may use this information to evaluate hospital financial performance. Gathering historical data for a 4 year period also provides a good opportunity to look at trends over time."

The Dataset is available on HEALTH’s website (www.HEALTH.ri.gov).  According to the report’s author Bruce Cryan, these data may be downloaded directly into a spreadsheet for analysis. HEALTH will continue to revise the dataset periodically—including announced yearly updates.
