For: Immediate Release HEALTH Recommends Closing City Park Beach to SwimmingThe Department of Health (HEALTH) recommended the closure of City Park Beach in Warwick to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the area is safe for swimming. Barrington Town Beach; Bristol Town Beach; Conimicut Point and Oakland Beach in Warwick; part of Third Beach in Middletown; and Warren Town Beach remain closed to swimming. As a reminder, Rhode Island has many excellent beaches. There are currently 116 licensed beaches open throughout the State. PLEASE NOTE: BEACH STATUS MAY CHANGE ON A DAILY BASIS.
