Media Release For: Immediate Release HEALTH Recommends Re-opening Goddard State Park BeachHEALTH officials recommended re-opening Goddard State Park Beach for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH and the Department of Environmental Management will continue to monitor water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season. Camp Meehan in Lincoln; Conimicut Point Beach, Gorton Pond, and Oakland Beach in Warwick; and Warren Town Beach remain closed. As a reminder, Rhode Island has many excellent beaches. There are currently 117 licensed beaches open throughout the State. PLEASE NOTE: BEACH STATUS MAY CHANGE ON A DAILY BASIS.
