HEALTH Recommends Opening Barrington Town Beach

HEALTH officials recommended re-opening BARRINGTON TOWN BEACH for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH and the Town of Barrington will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

A 400-foot section of beach separating the Atlantic Beach Club in Middletown and Easton's Beach in Newport; and Camp Grosvenor Beach remain closed.

As a reminder, Rhode Island has many excellent beaches. Currently there are 117 licensed beaches open throughout the State.
