HEALTH Recommends Opening Fort Adams State Park Beach
HEALTH officials recommended re-opening FORT ADAMS STATE PARK for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH and the Department of Environmental Management will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.
A 400-foot section of beach separating the Atlantic Beach Club and Easton's Beach; and part of Oakland Beach remain closed.
As a reminder, Rhode Island has many excellent beaches. Currently, there are 118 licensed beaches open throughout the State.
PLEASE NOTE: BEACH STATUS MAY CHANGE ON A DAILY BASIS. For up to date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches, go to the HEALTH website at www.health.ri.gov or for recorded information about RI Bathing beaches call (401) 222-2751.
