Health Department Ends Boil Water Advisory For Town of North Kingstown
Providence, Thursday, July 28, 2005: Those served by the Town of North Kingstown Water System are no longer advised to boil the water.
Coliform bacteria testing for three consecutive days commencing on Monday, July 25, 2005 has shown that the water in the distribution system is free of coliform bacteria.
A new chlorine based treatment system for the affected area went into operation on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 and is now fully effective. The chlorine disinfects the drinking water (removes the bacteria) and makes it safe and healthy for use.
For more information, contact Susan Licardi of the Town of North Kingstown Water office at 268-1520. Information is also available during business hours from the Rhode Island Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water Quality at (401) 222-6867.
