Walk the Rhode to Health
Health Department and Local Hospitals to Hold Free Walking Program

Rhode Islanders and friends are invited to join the August Walk the Rhode to Health on Saturday, August 20 at 9 A.M. at Slater Park in Pawtucket. Paws, the mascot for the Pawtucket Red Sox, will be present from 9-10 A.M. for pictures and autographs. Walk participants will also be eligible for drawings for free PawSox tickets. The group will meet in the Park across from St. Teresa’s Church on Newport Ave.

The walk is sponsored by The Rhode to Health Coalition, a collaborative including the RI Department of Health and community hospitals in Rhode Island. This program promotes walking as a safe, easy, low-to-no cost, and convenient way to be physically active and offers walks each month in different locations around the state. (Schedule below)

For additional information or the program schedule, contact JoAnna Williams at (401) 222-7899 or visit www.health.ri.gov/hri2010.
