Media Release For: Immediate Release The RI Health Department Ends Boil Water Advisory For North Smithfield Residents Served By Blackstone Water SystemProvidence, Thursday, March 30, 2006: The residents of North Smithfield served by the Blackstone Water System are no longer advised to boil the water. Normal use of residential water can be resumed after flushing the hot and cold tap faucets for 10 minutes. For further information follow the “Cleaning and Sanitizing Procedures For Households” posted at http://www.health.ri.gov/environment/dwq/households.php on the Department of Health website. Residents are reminded that it is always best to use cold water for cooking and consumption instead of using hot water. For more information, contact the Blackstone Water Department at (508) 883-9331. Information is also available during business hours from the Rhode Island Department of Health Information Line at (401) 222-8022 .
