| The Department of Health (HEALTH) recommended the closure of BARRINGTON TOWN BEACH, CONIMICUT POINT BEACH, OAKLAND BEACH, CITY PARK BEACH, GORTON POND BEACH, GODDARD MEMORIAL STATE PARK and FORT ADAMS STATE PARK to swimming due to high bacteria counts and heavy rainfall. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming.
The following beaches still remain closed:
ATLANTIC BEACH CLUB
EASTON'S BEACH
WARREN TOWN BEACH
BRISTOL TOWN BEACH
SCARBOROUGH STATE BEACH
Statewide: The Department of Health discourages water contact in areas within 200 feet of a running storm drain. These waters may contain high levels of harmful bacteria, which may cause illness.
