HEALTH Recommends Beach Closings

The Department of Health (HEALTH) recommended the closure of ATLANTIC BEACH CLUB BEACH, EASTON'S BEACH, CITY PARK BEACH, GODDARD MEMORIAL STATE PARK BEACH and OAKLAND BEACH to swimming due to high bacteria counts. Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend re-opening when the areas are safe for swimming.

The following beaches still remain closed:
CAMP FULLER-YMCA BEACH
CONIMICUT POINT BEACH
GORTON POND BEACH

Middletown residents are advised not to use any water, unless necessary, due to sewer repairs. The HEALTH website and Beach Hotline will be updated when this changes.

PLEASE NOTE: BEACH STATUS MAY CHANGE ON A DAILY BASIS. For up to date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches, go to the HEALTH website at www.health.ri.gov or for recorded information about RI Bathing beaches call (401) 222-2751.
