HEALTH Recommends Beach Openings

HEALTH officials recommended re-opening ATLANTIC BEACH CLUB BEACH in Middletown for swimming. This recommendation is based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels within acceptable limits. HEALTH will continue to monitor the water quality regularly to assure safe bathing throughout the summer season.

As a reminder Easton's Beach in Newport re-opened for swimming on Sunday August 12, 2007. This recommendation was based on results from water samples that showed bacteria levels within acceptable limits.

The following beaches are still closed:
BARRINGTON TOWN BEACH in Barrington
BRISTOL TOWN BEACH in Bristol
WARREN TOWN BEACH in Warren
