Immunize For Life
Immunize For Life is a philosophy that preventing and controlling vaccine preventable diseases in Rhode Island is important at all stages of life.
Why is Immunize For Life Important?
Vaccines prevent disease and saves lives. History has proven that vaccines are safe and effective. The Centers for Disease Control and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) have lists of recommended vaccines. In Rhode Island, federal and state funds combined with contributions from health insurers pay for vaccines.
Programs within Immunize for Life
This program provides all vaccines recommended by CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to healthcare providers for children (6 months to 18 years of age). (more) A special effort is being made within this program to combat chronic hepatitis in infants. (more)
This is a vaccine catch-up program for teens.
The program is designed to ensure that all children are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases before entering adulthood, going to college, or entering the workforce. Employers, colleges, and training programs require employees and students to be immunized. (more)
The Adult Immunization Program provides seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccine to adults. (more)
