To control the person-to-person spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

What we do

  • Monitor reportable infectious diseases by identifying newly diagnosed cases, and Analyzing trends in newly diagnosed cases
  • Manage cases by locating people who have been exposed to STDs, and contacting them and refer them to screening services
  • Control disease outbreaks by planning public health responses to outbreaks of STDs,and reacting swiftly to contain STD outbreaks by identifying those who may have been exposed, and referring them to screening services, with treatment for those who have become infected
