Tobacco Control Program

Preventing Youth Tobacco Use
Websites and Resources for KIDS ONLY

''Welcome to our “kids only” website! You are the only one who can make the decision to say NO to using tobacco. Tobacco harms your body. Once you start smoking and become addicted it is very difficult to quit. Nicotine is a drug found naturally in tobacco and affects many parts of your body, including your lungs and heart. Nicotine is highly addictive – as addictive as heroin or cocaine.

You will find links to many kids only web sites that will help you say NO to tobacco by understanding how dangerous tobacco, spit tobacco, cigars, and other tobacco products really are and how sick they make you. You will find information on how the Big Tobacco Companies target youth with their advertising and marketing tactics. The tobacco companies know that if you do not start using tobacco now - when you are young - the research tells them that you probably never will! This means that they will lose money if they do not replace the adult smokers that die every year from smoking.  You will also find resources to help you to quit smoking.
